I've been here for a little more than a month now. Before moving here I've search high and low through the internet for the cost of living in Seychelles but nobody seems to give the exact amount of the price of the items sold here or what is available here. Unlike other countries where you can easily gauge the cost of the food by visiting the grocery mall website like tesco or carrefour. Here is the list I've collected so far and I hope it helps. Price will be listed in Seychelles Rupees (SCR).
Bread 11-40 SCR
Coke 1.5 Litre 33 SCR
Coke 500ml 17 SCR
Onion 2kg 24 SCR
Oats 500g 20 SCR
Pasta Sauce 19-50 SCR
Marmite 51 SCR
Brinjal 40 SCR per kg
Tomato 35 SCR per kg
Carrot 28 SCR per kg
Garlic 30 SCR per kg
Potato 11 SCR per pack
Soy Sauce 18 SCR
Banana 20 SCR per kg
Chili 10 SCR per pack
Fruit Juice 16 - 23 SCR
Milk 19 - 25 SCR
Apple 25 -30 SCR per kg
Lemon 60 SCR per kg
Orange 17 SCR per kg
Cheddar Cheese 161 - 200 SCR per kg
Butter 200g 27 SCR
Cream Cheese 200g 44 SCR
Cooking Oil 1kg 25 SCR
Pasta 11.5 - 15 SCR
Cabbage 20 SCR per kg
Flour 9.25 SCR per kg
Corn Flakes 19 SCR - 80 SCR
Tuna Canned 17.50 - 30 SCR
Corn 2 for 25 SCR
Egg 2.55 - 3.5 SCR
Cooking Cream 1 Litre 93 SCR
Whipping Cream 1 Litre 117 SCR
Sugar 13 SCR per kg
Mayonnaise 18-35 SCR
Canned Mushroom 17 - 35 SCR
As for meat, I wouldn't really recommend any except for fish which are caught fresh daily and it's the cheapest source of meat. All the other meat products such as chicken, beef, pork and lamb are imported.
The most common vegetables found here are tomato, brinjal, chili, some kind of gourd, bok choy, capsicum, cabbage and carrot. Cucumber and corn seems to be seasonal. As for lemon, so far I've only saw it selling in one place. I hope it helps for those that are considering to move here for work or long term.
